Lume is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Lume may access health and activity data you choose to share through Apple HealthKit, including step counts, sleep data, water intake, mindfulness minutes, and other health metrics. This data is used solely to power the app's features.
We also collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address (if you sign up), challenge names, goals, and friend connections.
We may collect basic, anonymous usage analytics to help us improve the app experience.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to:
- Display your wellness dashboard, trends, and insights
- Power challenges, habit tracking, and friend features
- Provide AI-generated suggestions and trend analysis
- Send you updates if you subscribe to our mailing list
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
HealthKit Data
Lume uses Apple HealthKit to read and write health data with your explicit permission. HealthKit data is never shared with third parties, used for advertising, or stored on external servers beyond what is necessary to provide core app functionality.
Sharing & Social Features
When you join challenges or add friends, Lume may share limited activity stats (such as steps or challenge progress) with the people you connect with. We never share sensitive details such as exact locations, and you control who you connect with.
Data Storage & Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data. Health data is primarily stored on your device. Account-related data may be stored securely on our servers using industry-standard encryption.
Your Choices
You can disable HealthKit permissions at any time in iOS Settings. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email. If you delete the app, locally stored data is removed from your device.
Children's Privacy
Lume is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
